Iraqi Drilling Company achieves major milestone in oil well drilling and reclamation in 2023
The Ministry of Oil in Iraq announced that the Iraqi Drilling Company (IDC) had successfully completed the drilling and reclamation of 199 oil wells in 2023.
Khalid Hamza Abbas, the Director General of the IDC, highlighted the completion of drilling for 67 new oil wells, alongside the restoration of 132 existing ones, across the oil fields in the northern, central, and southern cities of Iraq.
“The company’s technical and engineering staff completed the drilling of 67 oil wells, in addition to the restoration of 132 oil wells, during the past year 2023 in the Iraqi oil fields in the cities of the north, centre, and south,” said Abbas.
Emphasising the team’s expertise and the use of modern, internationally approved drilling methods, Abbas underscored the accumulated experience and skill of the IDC teams. He also noted their commitment to maintaining quality performance standards, particularly in health, safety, and environmental aspects, in line with the integrated management system standards implemented by the company.
